About 20 tons of dinosaur fossil bones lie buried beneath the sand in the southern Sahara Desert, facing many potential dangers before excavation can occur.
Paul Sereno, a key member of the excavation team, uncovered the layer of sand covering a nearly 8,000-year-old fossil skull.
