“It was dark and suddenly a bright hole opened up in the sky,” Brinson, 38, said. “I saw it open. It was amazing, I thought it was God who had returned. I believe in God and I think it was a religious sign. And I’ve never seen anything like it, ever. I feel blessed. When I looked I thought I should make a video about it. I was there for a good 30-40 minutes and it was still there. It wasn’t a star, it wasn’t normal. People said it was a rocket launch, but I don’t know.”
After Brinson posted his video on social media, skeptical netizens offered a more prosaic explanation. They noted that around the same time that the airborne anomaly appeared in the sky, SpaceX launched a rocket about 150 miles away. Therefore, they argued that the light phenomenon was probably caused by this event. However, Brinson dismissed this possibility of an unusual sighting and stated that he had seen rocket launches before and they were not like that.
“I’ve seen rocket launches before and they didn’t look like this. It was biblical,” concludes Brinson.
