Photographs have been taken of an unusual creature with gruesome transparent skin after it was found outside a remote cottage.

The images of the creepy creature sparked a spooky social media search for the animal’s origins after it was found outside Karl Ingar Fossbakkens’ home in central Norway

Mr Fossbakkens says his horrified wife discovered the creature outside their home in central Norway.

And the smooth-skinned, 10in long, almost transparent-looking body could pass for a prop in an alien horror movie.

Karl, 51, from Tydal, explained to local media: “It was my wife who found it. She asked me to go out and remove it because she thought it was nasty.”

He added: “But I had to take some pictures of it first.”

“It’s taken off completely online and I have received many inquiries.”

Many users think if could be a deer, caribou or moose. Others wondered if it could be the remains of a bat.

But the truth is even more grisly, according experts.

Zoologist Roar Solheim – from the Agder Nature Museum – believes it to be the remains of a partially digested giant frog.

He believes it was probably coughed by a heron, which had literally bitten off more than it could chew.

He explained: “The feet belong to a frog or a toad. As far as I know there is no other animal that has such feet.
